Life

Chickasha is home to one of Oklahoma’s best universities, major employers and popular community events, in addition to being a commercial hub for two counties. This makes Chickasha an excellent place to put down roots.

Why Chickasha, OK?

Chickasha has many local amenities like beautiful parks and a downtown being revitalized. In addition, events like the popular Festival of Lights ensure that families can enjoy activities in their own backyard. When combined with a low cost of living, these benefits are leading many Oklahomans to call Chickasha home. After all, by moving to Chickasha families can get more home for their money, get to work without sitting in traffic, send their kids to great schools, have plenty to do and still be within 35 minutes of Oklahoma City and Norman.

Life in Chickasha is a Hometown Adventure

College students, young families and retirees are all attracted to Chickasha for the many local amenities and opportunities for adventure. Students attending the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, along with local residents, are invited to watch university teams compete in games and matches, attend popular guest lectures, conferences, events and festivals. Events like Droverstock, an electrifying music festival, are so popular, that visitors attend from throughout the region.

Young families can participate in university events or opt for quieter family fun by signing up for a sports league, camp or classes at the Chickasha Area YMCA. Lake Chickasha is another popular destination for families of all ages. Here, families can go swimming, take the boat out, catch some fish, grill on the provided barbeques, roast marshmallows on a campfire and even stay overnight in one of the tent or RV camping spots.
