Applications are not currently being accepted. 

Eligible Activities 

Vouchers may be used to purchase services in such areas as research, technical development, product development, commercialization, market development, technology exploration, and improved business practices, including strategies to grow business and create operational efficiencies. 

Ordinary and necessary expenses not directly related to the development and commercialization of new and innovative products and services are not eligible.

Terms

Projects must be completed within 18 months of voucher award. Vouchers are redeemed when the project is complete and the business submits a Project Completion Form to DEED.

To Apply

When funding is available, companies with 40 or fewer employees, with at least half of the employees based in Minnesota, may apply. Recipients must provide a cash match equal to 50 percent of the voucher award. For example, under the matching requirement, a company that receives the maximum award of $25,000 must contribute $12,500.

Download and complete the Innovation Voucher Application Form and submit according to the instructions. The application allows you to fill-in and save your work. If you use Chrome, Firefox or Safari web browsers, you must save the application to your own computer and open it in Adobe Reader BEFORE you fill it out or you will not be able to save your work. 

Applications are reviewed and vouchers awarded on a rolling basis, contingent on the availability of funds. Currently, no funding is available.
